FOUM ZGUID
THE COLORADO OF MOROCCO
The journey to Foum Zguid and its old, abandoned village was nothing short of breathtaking. The mountain scenery along the way was simply awe-inspiring, with vistas that seemed to belong to another world or a film set. The peaks were so surreal, their shapes sculpted by the relentless forces of wind and rain into bizarre, almost otherworldly forms. Every angle was a picture-perfect moment.
One particular peak stood out, its resemblance to the iconic Moroccan tajine so striking that it had earned the nickname "Tajine-shaped mountain" among the locals.
The allure of the mountains was so strong that I returned with my camera before sunrise the following morning. The desert area surrounding the peaks, with the nearby Oasis Laarjimia, was a world unto itself, and I was eager to explore the mountain shapes in the soft light of dawn.
